How many National Parks are there?

Grand Canyon National Park

According to the National Parks Service there are over 400 national properties that they manage but only 61 are designated as a National Park. The smallest is Gateway Arch in Missouri and the newest is Indiana Dunes (established in 2019). Seven of them are actually islands and many are extremely remote.

Over the next 12 months, I will be visiting each and every one of these National Parks and will be sharing stories, pictures and videos here on the site. Its going to be quite a challenge but I am looking forward to the experience. Please make sure to subscribe to the blog, YouTube channel and podcast so you don't miss any part of this great adventure.
